Founder, CEO, CTO
Alex Dunegan is CEO, CTO, and Founder of Lumint Currency Management. Before Lumint, Alex was Managing Director and Global Head of Currency Management at State Street Global Markets. He was responsible for all functions related to the firm’s currency management business and its $140 Billion in hedged assets. During his time at State Street, he led efforts in trading infrastructure development, product development, sales, research, and operations.
He holds a Master's in Finance from Boston College, a Master's in Computer Science, and Bachelor's in Computer Science & Mathematics from Emory University.
Peter Carey, CFA
Co-Founder & COO
Pete joined Lumint in July of 2014, after working in the Currency Management Group at State Street Global Markets for six years. During that time, he oversaw and grew the performance attribution, risk management and product development functions, while also contributing to strategic initiatives, research and sales.
Mr. Carey holds a Master's in Business Administration from Boston College and a Bachelor's in Economics from Brown University. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
Co-Founder, Portfolio management & Trading
Mr. Benfer joined Lumint in February of 2016 after working at Longfellow Investment Management for 6 years. While at Longfellow, Matthew held various roles including research analyst, trader and portfolio manager, and contributed to the firm’s assets growing seven-fold. Prior to Longfellow, Matthew held trading and operations roles at Goldman Sachs in New York. Matthew has also been an analyst at Standard Life Investments, Greenwich Associates and Liberty Mutual.
Matthew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, a Master’s in Finance and a Master’s in Business Administration, all from Boston College.
Mr. Yoshida joined Lumint February, 2016 as the Chief Financial Officer. He comes to Lumint with over 30 years experience in a number of Banking and Finance positions. Most recently, he was a Senior Managing Director at State Street Global Markets as well as the CFO and CAO for their e-Exchange business. Prior to this, he was the CFO and Corporate Secretary of privately-owned Currenex, Inc., a foreign exchange software provider managing one of the first high-speed FX exchanges. This business was sold to State Street in 2007.
Mr. Yoshida has an Master's in Business Administration from the University of California at Los Angeles. He has a B.A. in Economics from the same school.
Head of Sales & Business Development
Dave Green joined Lumint Corporation from State Street's FX Connect, as their Global Head of Sales and Relationship Management, where he was deeply involved with the FX execution workflows of the world’s largest institutional asset managers. Before joining State Street, Dave was Global Co-Head of FX Sales at Bank of New York Mellon, where he spent 21 years successfully building a core FX franchise as a liquidity provider servicing asset managers, corporations and pension funds. A University of Massachusetts graduate, Dave began his career as a bond and currency trader at Putnam Investments.
Director of Implementations
Ms. Fraser joined Lumint in July of 2018 after working at Brown Brothers Harriman for 4 years. While at BBH, Lisa was responsible for all onboarding and implementation related to the firm's new currency management business, she also contributed to tactical and strategic initiatives, relationship management, and sales.
Prior to BBH, Lisa held various roles at State Street Corporation over the span of 13 years. During that time, she oversaw the implementation and project management of all new business in the State Street Global Markets Currency Management Group, worked as an analyst in the Portfolio & Risk Management Group, and held various positions within the Investment Services business.
Lisa holds a BSc from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh with a concentration in mathematics.
